Metering

Metering is a device on the camara that can be set on auto or do it yourself. Metering measures the light in your picture. It reads the high lights and makes it the brightest and any light lower than it it going to be really dark, anmd vice-versa.

In the bottom picture we measured the light from the computer screen then took the picture. This lets us tell the camara that, that light is the medium light. Thats why it is all you can see in the picture because all the light around it is darker. The top picture was meseared off by modles face. This tells the camara, the light on her face is the medium light, thats why its so bright. Meaning it'll show brighter and darker than the medium light.

Spot metering can help in the future when you want a certain light brightness in your picture.
