For our Self-Portrait project we were to take three self-portraits. They were all to be in black and white, and they were all to capture a mood of some sort. We were also challenged to be as artistic as possible, and stay as far away from normal, cliche portraits that we see on personal pages etc. as possible. One had to use the rule of thirds as the base for the composition; One had to incorporate leading lines, and one had to be taken from a more extreme angle.
While doing this project I had a lot of fun. We were able to go down town and use the scenery as our background. The only difficulties I had as a model and as a photographer what finding what would look right with us(me and my partner, Brandon) and help show who we are. We had a major success though. Being able to go down town. Going downtown was fantastic, you could find almost any background you'd want there. That's why it's easy for me to love my rule of thirds picture, because it shows my artistic side. We plan on going to other places and doing this a lot more!
